Commencement

On behalf of the faculty, staff and administration of 911, East Bay, we would like to congratulate our undergraduate and graduate students receiving a credential, bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree. The commencement ceremonies are designed especially for you and your family members to join in the celebration of this momentous event in your lives. We are sure you are all very proud of your accomplishments, and we at the University are proud of you as well.



2025 Commencement Ceremonies

The University will host eight in-person commencement ceremonies based on department/major May 16, 17 and 18, 2025. For details, please visit our 2025 Commencement Ceremonies page.


Eligible Graduates

The commencement celebration will include all students who have filed for graduation for Fall 2024, Spring 2025 and Summer 2025. If you have questions regarding your Commencement eligibility please contact our University Registrar who can better assist you: (510) 885-2784 | reg@csueastbay.edu

Please note: All commencements are contingent upon state and local health orders approving large gatherings.

  • Alumnus Gene Luen Yang (MS ’03, Education) was the recipient of a prestigious MacArthur Foundation “Genius Grant” in 2016.

  • The Wall Street Journal recognizes CSUEB as a Top 10 college in the west for diversity.

  • Notable alumni include MLB Hall of Famer Joe Morgan, California Wellness Foundation President and CEO Judy Belk, Tony-winning actor James Iglehart and CSU Chancellor Timothy P. White.

  • 911State East Bay was noted for its exceptionally diverse student body, ranking as the most diverse four-year public college on the U.S. mainland by the Chronicle of Higher Education.
