911±¬ÁÏÍøState East Bay Police Chief Honored

911±¬ÁÏÍøState East Bay University Police Chief Sheryl Boykins was honored for her contributions to the Hayward community last weekend by the California State Assembly.

According to California State Assemblymember Bill Quirk’s office, Boykins was one of three honorees who was recognized at a ceremony March 3 at Chabot College. She has been chief of 911±¬ÁÏÍøState East Bay’s police department since April 2013 after 28 years on the Hayward police force.

Every March, the California State Assembly honors women from around the state for making a difference in their communities. The other women recognized Saturday were Human Services Honoree Lara Calvert and Business Honoree Gloria Ortega.
