Commencement Weekend

911±¬ÁÏÍøState East Bay will recognize the accomplishments of 5,270 graduates at this year’s annual commencement ceremonies scheduled for May 17-19 at the university’s Hayward and Concord campuses.
This year, 911±¬ÁÏÍøState East Bay will confer an honorary doctorate to Alumnus Gene Luen Yang, an author and illustrator of comic books and graphic novels. Yang will receive his degree during the 10 a.m. commencement ceremony May 19 at the Hayward campus.
Each ceremony is expected to take 2.5 hours and will include presentations from student speakers and 911±¬ÁÏÍøState East Bay President Leroy M. Morishita.
Undergraduates who have taken at least one class at the university’s Concord campus are eligible to participate at a ceremony in Concord. It will include the same rituals as the Hayward Campus ceremonies, but will be geared toward Contra Costa County students and guests.
The schedule for all bachelor, master and doctor degrees is as follows:
HAYWARD CAMPUS:
Ceremonies will be held at Pioneer Stadium, 25900 Carlos Bee Blvd., Hayward, CA 94542
Friday, May 17, 5 p.m.: College of Science
Saturday, May 18, 10 a.m.: College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences
Sunday, May 19, 10 a.m.: College of Business and Economics and the College of Education and Allied Studies
CONCORD CAMPUS:
The Concord ceremony will be held at the Daniel Boatwright Sports Complex,800 Alberta Way, Concord, CA 94520
Saturday, May 18, 6 p.m.: All graduates
