ASI Elections Committee

Welcome to the 911±¬ÁÏÍøState East Bay ASI Elections page! The ASI Elections committee is a dedicated group of student leaders who are charged with the oversight and management of the student government elections. The committee is selected each year as part of the ASI committee application and interview process. This page serves to provide the 911±¬ÁÏÍøState East Bay community with all details relating to ASI Elections.

The ASI Election Committee

The committee is comprised of 5 student leadership positions who receive stipends to oversee the elections process: Chair, Vice Chair, Events & Marketing Coordinator, Ethics Coordinator, and Volunteer Coordinator. Position descriptions can be found at
  • The 2024-2025 Elections Committee members are: Rajat Bakshi (Chair), Aditi Vaidya (Vice Chair), Lulu Yang (Events & Marketing Coordinator), Harshitha Sontika (Volunteers Chair), Destiny Escatel (Ethics Co-Coordinator), & Elia Varela (Ethics Co-Coordinator).
  • The committee is supported by an advisor team of James Carroll (Executive Director of ASI), Ashley Depappa (Coordinator of Government Advising for ASI), Heather Gardley (Director of Student Conduct, Rights & Responsibilities).
  • The committee is always looking for additional student volunteers to help plan and staff election activities. This is a great way to get involved at a lower commitment and support your student government! If interested, please contact asielections@csueastbay.edu

Monday, February 17, 2025 Mandatory Candidate Training (5pm-6pm), North UU 307/Zoom TBD - You cannot begin Campaigning until you’ve attended one of the mandatory meetings or have met with the Elections Chair (not before 2/24/25)

Friday, February 21, 2025 Candidate Success Workshop (Optional), 10:00am-12:00pm, North UU 307 - this will include a free candidate headshot!
Friday, February 21, 2025 Slate information due - must submit to Elections Committee online via Baysync by 4:30pm
Monday, February 24, 2025 Campaigning begins, 8am
February 24 - March 21, 2025 Grievance period begins - must submit to Elections Committee online via ASI Elections Page
Monday, March 3, 2025 - Friday, March 7, 2025 “Meet the Candidates” Week (University Union/Zoom TBD) - specific dates/times will be announced later
Monday, March 17, 2025 Voting begins online at 8am
Wednesday, March 19, 2025 Voting closes online at 11:59pm
Friday, March 21, 2025 Last day to submit grievance online via ASI Elections Page at 12:00pm
Friday, March 21, 2025 Tentative elections results released (pending grievance hearings) at 4:00pm

Election Grievances

At times, during the elections process, concerns or behaviors could potentially violate the terms of the election codes and campaign guidelines. The ASI Elections Committee takes concerns seriously and will evaluate reports as they come in. Concerns must be submitted timely and during the election season. Please submit concerns at this form:
